Design Graphics
Through Design Graphics, students were encouraged to explore the value of pattern in design through model building using precision in craftsmanship. All projects for this class required successful application and demonstration of design elements (point, line, plane, volume, space, light, texture, value, color) and principles (balance, unity/variety, emphasis, size, rhythm). This course allowed students to investigate spatial morphology including modifications through volumetric manipulation, degree of enclosure, light filtration, and applied color.
DESIGN GRAPHICS
The purpose of the cube progression project was to explore the value of pattern in design. A pattern is a collection of elements that reoccur in a predictable sequence. The more regular the repetition of a pattern, the easier it is to identify the pattern. Essentially there are two types: repeating patterns and growing patterns.
